Job Summary:

As a Bookkeeper for our construction industry company, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial transactions and ensuring the accuracy of our financial records while also providing exceptional customer service to our clients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Recording Construction Transactions: Accurately recording all financial transactions related to our construction projects, including purchases of materials, equipment rentals, subcontractor payments, and client invoices.
- Maintaining Project Ledgers: Keeping project-specific ledgers to track expenses and revenues associated with each construction project, ensuring that costs are allocated correctly and project budgets are adhered to.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Managing accounts payable by processing invoices from suppliers and subcontractors, issuing payments in a timely manner, and addressing any billing inquiries from vendors. Handling accounts receivable by invoicing clients for completed work, following up on overdue payments, and resolving client billing inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconciling bank statements for our construction company accounts, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded, and promptly addressing any discrepancies with bank records.
- Payroll Processing: Overseeing accurate payroll processing for our construction company employees, promptly addressing any payroll-related inquiries from employees, and ensuring payroll payments are processed on time.
- Tax Preparation Support: Assisting in gathering financial information and preparing documentation for tax filings, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations, and promptly addressing any client inquiries regarding tax-related matters.
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations governing financial transactions in the construction sector, including requirements related to billing, invoicing, and tax reporting. Promptly addressing any client inquiries regarding regulatory compliance.
- Customer Service: Providing exceptional customer service to our clients by promptly responding to inquiries regarding project finances, addressing any billing or invoicing concerns, and ensuring clients are kept informed of project financial status updates.
- Communication: Regularly communicating with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to provide financial updates, address any billing inquiries, and resolve discrepancies. Maintaining open lines of communication with clients to ensure their needs are met and their concerns addressed promptly.
- Documentation and Organization: Maintaining organized financial records and documentation for all construction-related transactions, ensuring easy access to information for audits or project evaluations. Providing clients with accurate and timely financial documentation upon request.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in construction-specific accounting software such as House Call Pro, Excel as well as general accounting software like QuickBooks, is required. Utilizing software tools to efficiently manage financial data and promptly address client inquiries.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills are essential for interpreting financial data related to construction projects, identifying cost trends, and making recommendations for cost-saving measures. Analyzing financial data to provide clients with insights into project finances and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Attention to Detail: Given the complexity of construction finances, attention to detail is crucial to ensure accurate recording and allocation of expenses across various projects and cost categories. Maintaining accurate financial records and promptly addressing any discrepancies to ensure client satisfaction.
- Time Management: Construction projects often have tight deadlines and require timely financial management. Effective time management skills will enable you to prioritize tasks, meet project deadlines, and promptly address client inquiries to ensure client satisfaction.
