Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Information Technology Manager to lead our IT department. This position is responsible for maintaining standards for technology infrastructure, overseeing the IT team, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. In addition to managing IT operations, this role requires software development experience. The IT Manager will be responsible for writing and maintaining code for the company’s intranet site, which is built on Drupal, a free, open-source content management system (CMS) and web application framework. The IT manager focuses on implementing innovative solutions, optimizing systems and processes, and enhancing cybersecurity measures. Additionally, they foster a culture of collaboration, reinforce company values, and drive initiatives to leverage technology for business growth and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Support company values through positive attitude, excellent service, and continuous development. Champion organizational culture and collaboration within the IT department.
- Managing IT staff: Hiring, training, and managing a team of IT professionals, such as software developers, system administrators, support specialists, and IT analysts . Provide timely performance feedback and coaching to team members.
- Maintaining computer systems: Ensuring that computer systems are running smoothly and performing well by partnering with the Senior Systems Administrator.
- Implementing new technology: Overseeing the implementation of new technology and computing applications
- Managing IT budget: Prioritizing funds based on the department's goals and managing the IT department budget
- Improving network systems: Developing strategies to reduce downtime and maintenance costs, and improving network systems
- Running security checks: Regularly checking network and data security. Oversee cybersecurity measures and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Managing software development: Managing the software development process for new applications and changes to existing systems
- Creating policies: Creating, enforcing, and overseeing IT policies, procedures, and plans for security, infrastructure, and desktops. Execute strategies to enhance technology infrastructure and capabilities.
- Managing data: Managing the storage, backup, integration, and accessibility of data, including disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Translate the organizational vision into achievable steps and systems that accomplish the desired results.
- Analyze IT operations and report progress to executive leadership.
- Lead initiatives to implement innovative technology solutions.
- Collaborate with executive-level management in setting technology goals. Effectively communicate expectations and accountability within the IT department.
- Lead with integrity, respect, and trust in team members.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
