Catering & Events Manager
Salary Range: $18 - $21 hourly
Job Summary
The Catering & Events Manager is responsible for coordinating, managing, and leading all aspects of catering event performances, including banquets and catering deliveries. This role ensures seamless execution of events by managing inventory, overseeing closed sales, and driving event performance success. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of event performance management experience, with a passion for delivering exceptional client experiences and growing catering sales.|
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Sales & Client Management
- Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, lead generation, and partnerships.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners, and event organizers by attending local networking events, venue tours, and chamber functions.
- Create tailored catering proposals and negotiate contracts to secure catering bookings and enhance client satisfaction.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to ensure high client satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
- Maintain detailed and organized records of client interactions, contracts, and feedback.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients throughout the entire sales and event process.
Event Planning & Coordination
- Communicate effectively with the catering sales team, senior management, and clients to ensure alignment on event expectations.
- Collaborate with culinary and operations teams to create customized menus, plan logistics, and ensure timely service delivery.
- Manage event timelines, staffing schedules, budgets, and resources for flawless banquet/buffet event execution.
- Oversee catering inventory at off-site storage locations for banquets and deliveries.
- Identify future business opportunities from performed events and communicate these to the sales team.
- Utilize essential sales software, including Caterease, and lead quarterly banquet staff training.
- Be an expert in Livy O’s catering services, policies, and procedures.
- Act as Event Banquet Lead for all scheduled events per month, especially during peak seasons.
- Manage both front-of-house and back-of-house staff during events.
- Maintain safety, cleanliness, and compliance standards, adhering to grooming and appearance policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Administrative & Strategic Responsibilities
- Track and report sales performance metrics to management.
- Monitor market trends, competitors, and pricing to continuously refine sales strategies.
- Support marketing initiatives, including promotional events, digital campaigns, and community outreach.
- Ensure all events comply with health and safety regulations.
- Stay current with catering display trends and create innovative presentations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of event performance management experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior hospitality and catering management experience strongly desired.
- Strong organizational skills with effective inventory management abilities.
- Excellent customer service, communication, decision-making, and time management skills.
- Must be able to stand for 6–8 hours at a time.
- Reliable transportation and a flexible schedule are required.
- Creative, service-oriented, and a team player with a proactive attitude.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, Business, or related field preferred
