About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of our dynamic marketing firm. This role is critical in ensuring financial accuracy, optimizing profitability, and supporting business decisions with insightful financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, compliance, and reporting within the marketing, advertising, or media industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting and budgeting.
Cost Control & Profitability Analysis:
- Monitor project-based revenue, media spend, and client profitability.
- Implement cost control measures and efficiency strategies.
- Track marketing campaign expenditures and measure ROI.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to tax regulations.
- Manage internal controls and compliance with financial regulations.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
- Oversee cash flow planning and ensure sufficient liquidity.
- Manage banking relationships and financing strategies.
- Optimize working capital and financial risk mitigation.
Strategic Leadership & Business Support:
- Partner with senior leadership to drive financial strategy and decision-making.
- Provide financial insights to support marketing investments and growth initiatives.
- Implement financial systems and process improvements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, ACCA, or CMA preferred.
- 7 years of accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, reporting, and budgeting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP) and Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Experience working in the marketing, advertising, or media industry is a plus.
