J ob Summary : The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource department including recruitment and on-boarding , employee benefits, leave, workers compensation and will oversee employee relations, including conflict resolu tion and performance management and ensure company policies and practices are followed .
Essential Job Responsibilities :
Manage the full-cycle recruitment process including interviewing and hiring of qualified job applicants. Collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for open positions
Execute new hire orientation process to ensure benefits, policies and procedures are communicated effectively. Enter new employee data into computer system
Ensure compliance with applicable laws governing Family Medical Leave Act, Americans Disabilities Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Equal Employment Opportunity and other local, state and federal regulations
Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction, engagement and retention
Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations. Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. Conduct exit interviews
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of management
Manage benefits administration to include enrollment, claims resolution, change reporting. Reconcile and process benefit invoices for payment
Provide timely support, guidance and training to employees as needed
Oversee the human resource management system (ADP Workforce Now). Update employee data as needed. Create and run reports as requested
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
Train and act as back-up for payroll and 401k processes
Oversee annual open enrollment process including company-wide presentations
Perform various Human Resources projects and tasks as needed or assigned
Knowledge & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
5 years of experience in Human Resources
Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations
Comprehensive knowledge of HR practices, including recruiting, onboarding, benefit administration and payroll processing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with employees, management and external parties
Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks / projects effectively and accurately
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to resolve disputes and maintain confidentiality. Must have a high level of personal and professional integrity
Ability to effectively and efficiently manage daily operations and resolve problems
Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite including excel
Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now preferred
Experience working in the transportation industry and HR certification a plus
Salary : $85,000 - $100,000
