POSITION SUMMARY                                                                     

Designs and implements data retrieval and management systems to meet user needs. May serve as a project leader. The Programmer/Analyst actively advances and promotes Le Moyne's mission, Catholic and Jesuit identity, Ignation pedagogy, and commitment to social justice and care for the whole person.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Job duties specific to this position:

  • Assists in the design of in-house data processing systems or subsystems, programs the systems or subsystems, develops testing criteria, and establishes documentation to support the new systems

  • Corrects problems pertaining to operation of college applications

  • Communicates with users to ensure that applications properly meet informational needs

  • Researches and modifies programs for the College’s administrative systems such as Ellucian Colleague and other existing and new computer applications and provides support for those applications 

  • Prepares queries, data exchanges and reports

  • Designs program logic and codes into authorized programming language

  • Maintains current knowledge of standard languages, coding methods, operational requirements, and industry trends

  • Continually updates skills and knowledge relative to the position and technology industry

  • Performs a variety of related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of experience or training 

  • 2 years of professional programming experience

  • Relational database experience

  • Familiarity with client server technology and experience with analysis, programming, and support of GUI developed software is desirable

  • Proficiency in application programming using languages such as C#, SQL, Java and other object-oriented software and databases

  • Knowledge of Web applications written in languages such as C#, SQL, Java or other Web development tools to generate interactive web-based enterprise-wide applications and databases

  • Ability to work independently and to function effectively in team projects

  • Must be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and requirements

  • Good interpersonal and communications skills, will be working with all levels of constituents of the College Community

Pay Range: $29.00 - $33.65 per hour
