LMCU is looking for a Consumer Default Claim Specialist who will be responsible for preserving the Credit Union's assets by acting as a liaison between LMCU and various third-party companies who provide services where filing of claims or submission of documents may be needed to recover funds for the Credit Union. The Consumer Default Claim Specialist will also include accounting and check processing, processing of mail payments, and releasing of liens.

LMCU is looking for a Consumer Default Claim Specialist who will be responsible for preserving the Credit Union's assets by acting as a liaison between LMCU and various third-party companies who provide services where filing of claims or submission of documents may be needed to recover funds for the Credit Union. The Consumer Default Claim Specialist will also include accounting and check processing, processing of mail payments, and releasing of liens.
What you’ll do:
- Handle and accurately process all incoming insurance and claim payments via mail, ACH, and phone. Work directly with members on deficiency balances as well as releasing of liens when applicable.
- Review and file claims with various third-party companies. Responsible for ensuring accuracy and completion of all documents in addition to being filed in a timely manner. Partner with third-parties to ensure payment(s) are received in a timely manner to reduce potential risk of loss or charge off.
- Thoroughly work all insurance and claim queues and ensure members are informed on their accounts and claims. Denied claims will require providing members with alternatives to get current with accounts.
- Responsible for communicating with management any knowledge of trends in underwriting for all consumer loan areas in respect to back-end products offered by the Credit Union and/or authorized third-party companies.
- Two years of similar or related experience.
- Must have a thorough and working knowledge of Consumer Lending, CUNA, and State National Company.
- Must also be able to read and interpret various insurance and warranty documentation.
