Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery, and maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll systems, benefits administration, and accounting principles. The Payroll Administrator will play a crucial role in supporting our human resources functions and ensuring employee satisfaction through accurate payroll management.
Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies or issues, implementing solutions as necessary.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions, including journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
- Utilize accounting software such as ADP or UltiPro to manage payroll functions efficiently.
- Collaborate with the human resources department to ensure seamless integration of payroll with HR systems.
- Prepare reports related to payroll metrics and assist in audits as required.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices to ensure compliance.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role with a strong understanding of payroll processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (experience with SAGE Contractor preferred).
- Solid knowledge of benefits administration and technical accounting principles.
- Experience in general ledger reconciliation and journal entries is essential.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with human resources practices is a plus.
- Construction Background with familiarity of union dues.
- Prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting knowledge.
- Hiring practices-setting up new employees
- Ability and willingness to be cross trained in other departments
