Key Responsibilities : Installation and MaintenanceInstall and commission protective relays and related control equipment in substations, power plants, and industrial facilities.Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.Testing and CalibrationConduct performance tests on protective relays, including overcurrent, distance, differential, and voltage relays.Calibrate relays to meet manufacturers' specifications and system requirements.Troubleshooting and RepairDiagnose and repair faults in protective relay systems, control circuits, and associated equipment.Collaborate with engineering teams to identify root causes of malfunctions and recommend improvements.Documentation and ReportingMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities, test results, and equipment performance.Prepare technical reports and update schematics and drawings as needed.Compliance and SafetyEnsure all work complies with safety regulations, industry standards (e.g., NERC, IEEE), and company policies.Conduct risk assessments and follow safe work practices during installations and maintenance tasks.Collaboration and TrainingWork closely with other technicians, engineers, and operations staff to optimize system performance.Provide training and guidance to junior technicians when required.Qualifications : Education : Associates degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
