Loadstar provides product handling and site logistics services to refineries, chemical plants, barge lines and terminals. We load and unload all classes of cargos into railcars, trucks, barges, and ships; we operate docks, tank farms, terminals, and warehouses; and we manage site logistics for marine, rail, truck, and pipeline. The Marine Logistics Dispatcher provides 24-hour communication with customers and employees to schedule and dispatch on-call tankermen and dock operators to specific job sites. Coordinators enter data specific to each job into a computer program, monitor the projected vessel arrival time at the designated dock, and the select an appropriate tankerman or dock operator to meet the vessel and load or discharge the cargo. Coordinators also receive data from field personnel and enter information for payroll and billing purposes. Coordinators plan and coordinate to optimize work coverage. The job requires data entry, planning, communication, and problem solving. Coordinators also receive reports of incidents from field employees and initiate the appropriate company response including information entry into the incident reporting system.

- The nature of the field work is 24/7, so you will be expected to be available by cell phone during non-business hours

- Rotating day and night, 12-hour shifts
- Answer calls and emails from customers and assess their needs
- Proficiency in Loadstar Aegis software system
- Schedule and dispatch tankerman or dock operators to customer sites
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Understand requirements for specific barge customers and facilities
- Data entry, filing, and other clerical functions
- Communicate information necessary for turnover to shift relief
- Work as a team player and promote a positive culture with co-workers
- Performing other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma/GED
- Previous experience as dispatcher is a plus
- General computer knowledge
- Must be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Able to work successfully under pressure
- Ability to prioritize tasks with attention to detail
- Strong skills in organization, planning, and problem solving
- Work independently and exercise sound judgment
- Ability to transmit information with a high degree of accuracy
