We are seeking a highly skilled Freight Insurance Underwriter to join our team at Loadsure. As an Inland Marine Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing underwriting expertise and exceptional service to our customers.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. You will be responsible for sourcing submissions from assigned trading partners, growing the broker source usage based business, and reviewing and providing clearance on High Value Shipment referrals.
You will also be required to clear annual business submissions, perform desk underwriting, and ensure timely and accurate data entry in our portal. Additionally, you will maintain your book of business by providing timely renewals to brokers and assureds, and liaise with claims, finance, compliance, and engineering teams as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing submissions from assigned trading partners through dedicated marketing and sales techniques
- Growing the broker source usage based business for single shipments and shipper interest clients
- Reviewing and providing clearance on High Value Shipment referrals within your partners and territory
- Clearing annual business submissions and performing desk underwriting to review pertinent details of exposures to quote business within your authority and utilizing the Loadsure pricing tools
- Ensuring timely and accurate data entry in the Loadsure portal
- Maintaining your book of business by providing timely renewals to brokers and assureds
- Liaising with claims, finance, compliance, and engineering teams as needed
- Helping maintain team standards through supporting other team members in achieving their service/quality levels and targets as required
- Providing weekly reports to the VP of product lines outlining production, referrals, and booked premiums
- Completing required continued education training as assigned
- Providing a professional service to brokers in person, writing, email, and telephone

- Excellent organizational skills – ability to provide the client with clear and accurate agendas, status reports, and updates on request
- Monitoring project deadlines and budgets; identifying and communicating potential changes that may be required
- Preparing materials for client presentations
- Answering any queries regarding customer policies in a compliant and timely manner
- Generating and providing policy quotes for immediate coverage and short-term needs
- Ability to produce high-quality documentation
- Experience delivering presentations to senior stakeholders
- Facilitating workshops and meetings, such as requirements gathering, project boards, technical review sessions, or process design workshops
- Proven ability to influence those outside of their direct reporting line
- Proven attention to detail/extreme precision about the content of requirements of documents, weekly reports, and status updates
- Ability to work within an unstructured environment and without clear guidance
- Good knowledge of corporate systems, such as CRM, etc.
