The Challenge and The Opportunity
Local Crafts (LC) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team. As a Junior Accountant, you will work closely with the accounting team to support the day-to-day financial operations of the company. You will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including:
- Assisting with the day-to-day financial transactions and completion of posting processes.
- Reconciling and completing monthly and annual closing procedures.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in transaction data, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with relevant departments to rectify any issues.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliation.
- Oversee the company's corporate credit card program, including issuing cards, monitoring spending, enforcing expense policies, processing reimbursement requests. Reconciling transactions and uploading to the system to ensure accurate financial reporting while identifying any discrepancies.
- Receive and review vendor invoices sent to the designated accounts payable email address.
- Prepare sales transactions from third party websites to upload to the accounting software.
- Verify and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions between credit card merchant processing and accounting software.

Required skills and experience:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in accounting, finance or business administration, and/or equivalent experience.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, and to prioritize multiple tasks and projects to meet deadlines while remaining organized.
- Independently solve practical problems and interpret a variety of written and oral instructions.
- Handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
- Effectively communicate with offices and teams in other locations and time zones.
- MS Office proficiency, including intermediate Excel skills.

Preferred skills and experience:
- Familiarity with GAAP accounting principles a plus.
- NetSuite software experience highly desired.
We will require candidates to perform an on-site skills assessment to test excel skills related to VLookup,/XLookup, SumIfs, Subtotals, and PivotTables.
Upon a conditional offer of employment, a professional reference check and criminal background check will be required.
Compensation: $16.83 to $22.60 per hour DOE, plus annual bonus based on individual perfomance and company profitability.
