We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to enhance our financial processes and ensure our operational costs are accurately captured and analyzed.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial records: Maintain detailed accounting records, prepare financial statements, and ensure accurate cost tracking for all manufacturing operations.
- Develop and manage cost analysis: Calculate and analyze burden rates, including overhead, labor, and material costs, to support accurate pricing and profitability assessments.
- ERP system management: Leverage your understanding of ERP software to ensure accurate cost reporting, inventory management, and operational efficiency.
- Business operations reporting: Analyze budgets, forecasts, and financial performance to provide actionable insights for the management team.
- Compliance and auditing: Perform internal audits to ensure adherence to financial and operational standards, including GAAP compliance.
- Process improvement: Design and implement strategies to enhance financial efficiency, streamline reporting, and improve cost controls.
- Management reporting: Present financial analysis, variance reports, and findings to the management team, highlighting areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in cost accounting or a related financial field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting principles (GAAP), ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Plex or Jobboss, and financial reporting tools.
- Knowledge of burden rate calculation: Experience in calculating and allocating costs related to labor, overhead, and materials within a manufacturing setting.
- Detail-oriented: Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and deliver actionable recommendations.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation is a plus.
