Overview
The Assistant Superintendent plays a crucial role in the management and maintenance of all course and grounds landscapes, ensuring that all greenkeeping activities are executed efficiently and effectively. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent to oversee daily operations, manage staff, and ensure that all projects meet the organization's goals.
Duties
- Assist in supervising groundskeeping staff to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to highest standards.
- Oversee the maintenance of turf, lawns, and other landscaped areas, ensuring proper care and aesthetics.
- Implement irrigation systems and monitoring their effectiveness for optimal plant health.
- Participate in building and maintaining landscape features such as flower beds, shrubs, trees, and turf areas.
- Conduct regular inspections of grounds to identify maintenance needs and potential improvements.
- Train staff on best practices for turf care, equipment care, and overall maintenance management.
- Collaborate with the Superintendent to develop maintenance schedules and project plans.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in groundskeeping or landscape management is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively.
- Knowledge of horticulture practices including irrigation, turf care, course setup, and maintenance.
- Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and management.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks associated with golf course maintenance duties.
- A passion for maintaining turf quality, highest standard of playability and enhancing the course and team procedures.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
