Locke Technical Services is searching for an Electrical Estimator with 4 years of estimating experience, to join our Field Services team located in NW Houston. The ideal candidate will have 4 years experience in creating successful electrical estimates for the Oil & Gas markets.
Requirements
Review industrial building plans to determine the electrical needs of purposed projects.
Evaluates bid documents to determine overall scope of project.
Determines all documentation required for bid submittal; determines who should review or contribute information necessary to complete bid.
Reviews plans and specifications to identify types and grades of materials, what quotes to solicit, and what resources will be required to complete bid in compliance with project requirements and bid deadlines.
May attend pre-bid meetings or job interviews as required.
Contacts vendors and reviews plans and specifications to obtain vendor quotes.
Reviews quoted bill of material for accuracy.
Required Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of tools and principals involved in production of electrical plans, blueprints and drawings.
Experience with contract documents such as contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendum's, specifications and change orders.
Thorough knowledge of the electrical field with familiarity in materials and construction methods.
Knowledgeable of the N.E.C and local codes.
Knowledge of estimating principles and techniques.
Knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
Knowledge of suppliers and supplier data bases applicable to project specifications
Required Experience & Education
Experienced with Blue Beam and Accubid is a must.
4 years minimum experience estimating projects in Oil & Gas.

Field experience is desired
High school diploma or a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or similar studies.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk.
Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking.
Some lifting (up to 30 lbs.). Long hours on computer keyboard.
