This position is for a Systems Engineer. The candidate selected for this position will perform duties as assigned as part of the Electro Optical Infrared Team.
As a member of the Electro Optic Infrared (EOIR) team, the selected candidate will be responsible for supporting engineering activities associated with the development and maturation of EOIR solutions for the Lockheed Martin (LM) Aeronautics EOIR team. Responsibilities include defining, reviewing, and documenting engineering requirements, performing engineering document reviews, reviewing specifications, coordinating with the Principal Engineers and other key stakeholders, performing subcontract management, and interfacing/coordinating with various internal-to-LM and external-to-LM customers.
The selected candidate shall be required to employ their education and experience in engineering for planning, development, integration and validation of Electro Optic, Infrared and Laser Optic systems on military fighter aircraft to meet contract requirements. Key areas of focus are knowledge of US defense contract lifecycles, subcontract management, design, development, integration, test, verification and validation of military Electro Optic, Infrared and Laser systems.
The selected candidate will be required to prepare and give briefings as required to customers, technical leads and/or Lockheed Martin management. The candidate must possess exceptional people skills and oral and written communication skills. Minimal travel may be required to Customer facilities and Lockheed Martin sites.
The selected candidate must be a US citizen and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. The selected candidate must have or be able to obtain at a minimum an interim DoD Secret prior to start of work, must maintain a DoD Secret clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a SAP/SAR clearance.
A level 5 employee Typically has 14 or more years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in STEM related discipline
- Professional Engineering Experience
- Must be able to get and maintain program clearances
Desired Skills:
- Experience with military or government programs
- Familiarity with any of the following: Avionics, EW/CM, Radar, CNI, Electro Optic Infrared (EO/IR) Sensor systems or Sensor Pods
- Experience with engineering test and analysis
- Excellent problem resolution skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication and coordination skills
- Experience with Electro Optic Infrared or Laser systems is a plus
