Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Thermodynamics Engineer to continue our tradition of creativity in aircraft design and development. The selected candidate will join the Thermodynamics team to develop and analyze complex thermal management system and calculate structural temperatures for current and future generation air vehicle platforms. This position is for a thermodynamics technical lead on LM Aero programs. The thermodynamics team implements engineering tasks across all LM Aero lines of business.
- - Provide technical analysis for complex problems involving heat transfer and thermodynamics.
- - Mentor junior team members in thermal analysis and thermodynamics resources and best practices.
- - Implement standard work practices. Tailor processes to program needs.
A level 4 employee Typically has 7 - 9 years of professional experience.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, equivalent experience/combined education considered
• Experience in heat transfer and thermodynamic analysis.
• Experience with thermal analysis tools and processes.
• Thermodynamics, Environmental Control Systems (ECS), Power and Thermal Management Systems (PTMS), Propulsion or Flight Sciences experience.
• Secret Clearance with an investigation within 6 years.
Desired Skills:
Ability to lead a team of engineers in a dynamic, cross-disciplinary business environment.
• M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred.
• Strong experience with common thermal analysis tool sets. Ability to develop tools for analysis automation and optimization.
• Strong experience in structural thermal analysis
• Experience with test execution and empirical analysis.
• Strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information with customers and management.
