This role is responsible for tasks related to the development and maintenance of functional and secure networks. A network engineer is also responsible for troubleshooting client’s networking related issues. Problem-solving skills, knowledge of network administration and architecture, and an understanding of security and data protection are also requirements of a network engineer.
Travel: Up to 70%
What You'll Own
· Collaborating with network architects to design and implement functional company networks.
· Installing and configuring networking hardware.
· Creating and implementing network security measures.
· Managing and mentoring junior Network Engineering staff.
· Delegating networking maintenance tasks to junior staff.
· Dealing with escalated network support issues.
· Anticipating potential issues or bottlenecks and identifying possible solutions.
Requirements
What we're looking for
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or 5-10 years related field experience.
· Cisco Certified Network Professional certification or equivalent.
· Previous work experience as a Networking Engineer.
· Proven track record of installing, configuring, and troubleshooting route/switch, collaboration, security or wireless systems.
· Exceptional knowledge of networking technologies (OSI network layers, TCP/IP).
· Familiarity with administration, performance tuning, and system monitoring.
· Advanced knowledge of network operating systems including Cisco, Ruckus and Meraki, Palo Alto, etc.
· Advanced knowledge of networking hardware including switches, routers, access points, collaboration devices, etc.
· Advanced knowledge of communication and routing protocols.
· Excellent leadership and mentoring skills.
· High level problem-solving and communication skills.
· Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and face-to-face)
