About The Position
Seeking an experienced Hematology/Oncology Locum Physician to provide inpatient coverage in the Minneapolis metro area. Key Responsibilities
- Inpatient Care: Provide direct patient care for adult hematology and oncology patients in a hospital setting.
- Chemotherapy Administration: Administer chemotherapy treatments, including intrathecal chemotherapy.
- VAD/CV Catheter Management: Assess and manage VADs and CV catheters, including assessing port integrity.
- Call Coverage: Participate in call coverage from 5 pm to 8 am with a low volume of calls (average 1-2 calls per night).
- Documentation: Utilize the EPIC system for patient documentation.
- Weekend Shifts: Work weekend shifts as part of the 7-day per week schedule, including overnights.
- Board Certification: ABMS Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology (required)
- State License: Must hold an active Minnesota medical license (required)
- BLS Certification: Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Experience: Proven experience in hematology/oncology inpatient settings.
- Procedures: Expertise in the management of vascular access devices (VAD), central venous catheters (CV), and chemotherapy administration, including intrathecal chemotherapy.
- Credentialing Timeframe: 3-4 months (credentialing required before start)
- Call Schedule: 5 pm to 8 am, low call volume (1-2 calls per night)
- Hospital Designation: Level 1 trauma center
- Patient Load: Average of 10 patients per day for rounding/call
- Documentation System: EPIC EMR
- Weekend and Overnight Shifts: Required
