Locust Street Resource Center is seeking passionate and qualified Crisis Screeners to join our expanding Mobile Crisis Response Team. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to provide critical support to individuals facing mental health and related crises right in their own communities. You'll be part of a dynamic team dedicated to innovative solutions and making a lasting impact on lives.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to mobile crisis calls and provide on-site suicide risk screening, safety planning, and when inpatient hospitalization facilitation when needed.
- Scheduled shifts are selected based on applicant availability and the needs of the crisis team. Available shifts include day-time, evening, and overnights.
- Participation in after-hours on-call rotation that includes Friday nights and weekends (Saturday 8:30am – Sunday 8:00pm) on a monthly basis is required (typically 1 Friday evening/night and 1 weekend per month)
- Document client interactions and communicate effectively with team members and agency partners in a timely manner.
- Complete required client records and maintain program materials.
- Follow up with clients, make referrals, and collaborate with healthcare providers.
- Contribute to a positive team environment.
Qualifications:
Required –
· Bachelor’s degree in human services
Preferred –
· At least 1 year of mental health experience
Additional Requirements:
- Pass needed background checks and have valid driver's license.
- Reliable insured transportation and working phone.
- Ability to handle demanding situations and client crises, including ability to have upfront, honest discussion about suicide and risk factors.
- Strong communication, prioritization, and independent work skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Crisis intervention and suicide prevention experience.
- Familiarity with community resources and diverse populations.
- Trauma-informed care practices and ability to work well under pressure.
