The Locust Valley Central School District is looking fora Part-Time School Monitor to join our team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises students and maintains order in the lunchroom, hallways, or all-purpose room; performs related duties as required.
- Helps students find seats, maintains order (may clean up food spill), takes cash (as applicable).
- Oversees students in common areas, ensuring no accidents occur.
- Supervise students in the all-purpose room, maintaining order and reporting cases of misbehavior to the appropriate school authority.
- May assist teachers in taking attendance.
Work Hours and Benefits:
The position may be with our with an anticipated start date of as soon as possible. There are no benefits.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with students is preferred.
- Good leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to be firm yet courteous with the public.
- Ability to get along well with students, school staff/faculty.
- Some knowledge of first aid methods.
- Observant of surroundings to help take action or proactive measures to assist students.
- Good physical condition. Will be on your feet most of the time.
Training and Education:
- Ability to speak and read English in order to understand and perform job assignments.
Salary:
- Hourly rate: $17.77 (incremental increase depending on experience).
