Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented HR Assistant to join our team. This role will involve assisting with HR policies, explaining employee benefits, and supporting various HR functions. The ideal candidate will share our commitment to improving the mental health of young people and will thrive in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
Hours/Schedule:
Part time: 25-28 hours per week
We are looking for an individual who can work 9:30am-2:30pm (some room for flexibility and negotiation).
Location
Hybrid. Two days per week in person in our Farmingdale office (located in Airport Plaza). The rest of the days you would be able to work remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Benefits Administration: Explain employee benefits and programs to staff, providing clarity and support to help them navigate their options.
- Recruitment Support: Aid in the recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews.
- Onboarding: Assist with the onboarding process for new hires as needed, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
- Employee Records Management: Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal standards.
- Support HR Initiatives: Assist in various HR projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and organizational culture.
- Respond to office phone calls/faxes.
Qualifications:
Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to support and empower staff.
Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Familiarity with HR policies and procedures.
Experience in a nonprofit environment is an advantage.
Proficient in Google Drive.
