General Manager – Boutique Motel (Under Renovation)
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our 24-key boutique motel, currently undergoing renovations to transition from an economy lodging option to a high-end boutique property. The ideal candidate will have hotel management experience with a strong background in customer service, sales, and operations. This is a unique opportunity to start immediately and lead the transformation of the property while ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest relations.
- Lead the transition from an economy lodging model to a boutique experience, implementing service and operational standards that align with the new vision.
- Develop and implement training programs for staff to enhance customer service, sales techniques, and operational efficiency.
- Manage online and direct bookings, optimize occupancy rates, and handle guest inquiries professionally.
- Drive revenue growth through strategic pricing, upselling, and local partnerships.
- Monitor financial performance, budgeting, and cost control to maximize profitability.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hospitality regulations.
- Foster a positive team culture, hiring and developing a staff that aligns with the boutique hotel's elevated service expectations.
- Engage with guests to ensure exceptional experiences and handle any concerns proactively.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a General Manager or in a leadership role within the hotel industry.
- Strong customer service and sales background, with a hands-on approach to guest satisfaction.
- Experience managing renovation transitions or property repositioning is a plus.
- Proficiency in revenue management, OTA platforms, and reservation systems.
- Ability to lead a team in a changing environment and implement new operational procedures effectively.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a focus on staff motivation and training.
