Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Football Coach to join our coaching staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports coaching, particularly in football, and possess the ability to educate and motivate student-athletes. This role is essential in fostering a positive team environment and promoting the overall development of our athletes both on and off the field. This is a volunteer position on our Frosh staff with potential for a small stipend. Availability is from 3:00-6:00 PM Monday-Wednesday and 3:00-9:00 PM on Thursday’s
Duties
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and implementing effective training sessions and practice schedules.
- Provide instruction on football techniques, strategies, and game rules to enhance players' skills.
- Support the development of individual player skills through personalized coaching and feedback.
- Monitor student-athletes' academic performance and behavior management to ensure they maintain eligibility.
- Collaborate with other coaching staff to develop game plans and strategies for competitions.
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.
- Organize team meetings, film sessions, and other activities to promote team cohesion.
- Assist in recruiting new talent by evaluating potential players during tryouts or competitions.
Requirements
- Ability to pass background check
- Background in physical education or related field is preferred.
- Experience working with students in an educational or athletic setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to effectively support student-athletes.
- Additional skills in lifeguarding, basketball, judo, or swimming are considered a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- A commitment to promoting the health, safety, and well-being of all student-athletes.
