What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper position at Loganville Middle School?
Overall Purpose
To maintain financial accounting records accurately and thoroughly for an array of fiscal services for student body and school site activities and processes; conveying and updating fiscal information; ensuring that fiscal practices are followed; and disbursement of funds are within proper and legal guidelines.
Essential Functions
- Counts, verifies and issues receipts for all monies.
- Conducts daily deposits to the bank.
- Balances bank statements each month.
- Keeps a record of all financial transactions.
- Prepares and pays invoices.
- Compares prices and prepares purchase orders for all office and classroom needs for the beginning of each school year and as needed during the year.
- Submits an end of month and quarterly report to the Finance Department on a timely basis.
- Enters time and attendance.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED Certificate required.
Physical Requirements
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to10 pounds of force as needed to move objects. Generally, the job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking, and 20% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
Education/Training
Minimum three (3) years bookkeeping experience or and equivalent combination
of training and education.
