Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled Automation/SCADA Technician to support our offshore and land based operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) & Automation systems on offshore platforms, rigs, and vessels. This role requires expertise in SCADA systems, proficiency in industrial automation, and a commitment to maintaining reliable data communication and control in a challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Installation: Install, configure, and commission Automation/SCADA hardware and software, including PLCs, RTUs, HMI, and communication networks.
- System Monitoring & Maintenance: Continuously monitor systems to ensure reliable operation. Perform preventive maintenance to minimize system downtime.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and resolve issues related to systems, including communication failures, software bugs, and hardware malfunctions.
- Data Management: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data collected by these systems. Assist in data analysis to optimize operations.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all installations, configurations, updates, and repairs. Update system documentation and schematics as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, IT personnel, and technicians to integrate with other automation and control systems.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and industry regulations. Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and participate in offshore safety drills.
Qualifications:
- Education: Highschool Diploma or equivalent; Technical certifications in Automation or SCADA systems are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in system maintenance and troubleshooting, with at least 2 years in an offshore environment.
- Skills:
- Proficient in PLC programming, and HMI configuration.
- Strong knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, Ethernet).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Prior experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Wonderware, Ignition, etc. is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Possible extended periods offshore with rotating shifts; 14&14.
- Work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to high winds, confined spaces, and heavy machinery.
- Physically demanding tasks may be required, including lifting, climbing, and working at heights.
