Job Title: Tribal Access Program (TAP) Trainer
Job Location: Remote
Position Overview: LSI requires the service of a Trainer to support a Department of Justice customer. The Trainer will support the Department of Justice’s Tribal Access Program (TAP) by providing direct training to federally recognized Tribes on use of Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) databases including NCIC, NGI, N-DEx, NICS, and state databases such as Nlets. The candidate should have at least 5 years’ total experience.
Responsibilities:
Provides both onsite and remote training, guidance and law enforcement subject matter expertise to all TAP program Tribal agencies, especially as it relates to use of FBI CJIS systems such as NCIC, III, NGI, etc.
Creates and presents 15 large group meetings and approximately 6-8 webinars per month
Camtasia production subject matter expert
Produces an average of 5 TAP on-demand training videos per year.
Develop up to five self-paced, MP4 TAP video training segments per year for DOJ JWIN system users
Provide training to criminal and civil agencies on a variety of criminal and civil subjects that include how to interpret and adhere to CJIS Security Policy, how to enter/modify/clear person and property files in NCIC, how to register sex offenders, and how to read criminal histories and IdHS reports
Develop training materials and curriculum for criminal and civil agencies
Provide guidance for DOJ CJIS Security Agency activities in support of various Tribes
Provide on-site training, completes assessments, helps improve communications at the Tribal site, and assists with making Tribal decisions
Ensure there is cross-functional communication as necessary between criminal and civil agencies and that necessary information exchange agreements are in place
Draft action reports and presentations that clearly outline programmatic and technical issues with required actions to resolve
Requirements:
Experience reviewing and editing work products written by other team members.
Mastery of English grammar, sentences syntax and formatting.
Mastery of Microsoft Office products including Word and PowerPoint.
Excellent presentation and writing skills, as well as the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.
Display a high degree of initiative and ability to work independently under minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Customer service orientation with strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
Ability to apply knowledge of law enforcement concepts, policies, and procedures
Must possess analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Preferred Requirements:
Experience in the federal government or law enforcement sector
Five years of specialized experience related to the duties described above
Education and Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related scientific or technical discipline
Ability to receive a security clearance
