Job Summary

The Vice President of Sales will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth by leading sales strategy, expanding the client base, and optimizing revenue streams. This role demands a seasoned sales leader with a deep understanding of the freight forwarding industry, strong leadership skills, and the ability to build and manage high-performing sales teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy Development : Design and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and support business objectives.
  • Team Leadership : Build, mentor, and lead a results-driven sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration and success.
  • Business Development : Identify and secure new business opportunities, with a focus on high-value clients and strategic partnerships.
  • Client Relationship Management : Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to ensure long-term retention and satisfaction.
  • Market Analysis : Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and market conditions to identify opportunities and refine strategies.
  • Sales Operations : Oversee sales processes, including lead generation, pipeline management, and performance tracking, to maximize efficiency and results.
  • Revenue Growth : Drive top-line revenue growth by creating innovative sales programs and pursuing strategic opportunities.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with operations, customer service, and other teams to ensure seamless execution of sales commitments.
  • Reporting : Provide regular reports to executive leadership on sales performance, forecasting, and market insights.

Qualifications

  • Experience : 10 years in sales leadership roles within the freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain industry.
  • Proven Success : Track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth in a competitive market.
  • Leadership Skills : Demonstrated ability to inspire, manage, and develop high-performing sales teams.
  • Industry Knowledge : In-depth understanding of international freight forwarding, customs regulations, and trade compliance.
  • Strategic Vision : Expertise in crafting and implementing innovative sales strategies.
  • Communication : Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Location Knowledge : Familiarity with the Long Beach port and surrounding logistics infrastructure is highly advantageous.
