The Engineering Project Manager’s primary functions are to support the implementation of new products/processes and continuous improvement of production operations through Six Sigma and Lean methodologies. The Engineering Project Manager will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Sales Representatives to improve the efficiency of production operations.

· 1st Shift: typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with an hour lunch.
· At times your hours and shift may stagger, overlap and/or extend beyond your normal schedule with some weekend travel needed for trade show conferences, company meetings and/or customer visits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties to be performed by the Engineering Project Manager in fulfilling the responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following
- This position considers the technical design requirements of products, processing and equipment, to enable Customer Service, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Sales Representatives to meet customer needs. This includes estimating the cost impacts of changes and implementing new products into production.
- This position considers equipment capabilities to meet the customer design requirements and develop a process concept.
- This position is one of several employees who may be responsible to update the Device Master Records, Safety Data Sheets, Technical Data Sheets, etc. when changes are requested
- This position will provide back up to maintain and update DEQ requirements as needed.
- The Engineering Project Manager maintains proper Hazardous Waste activities as needed.
- Review RFQ requirements with RFQ team to determine job feasibility/profitability and propose alternative solutions to the sales team, if applicable
- Prepare costing for Quotes
- Research, recommend, source and specify production equipment, tooling, gauging as needed
- Identify inefficient activities and propose improvements using 5-S, Kaizen, Sig Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and related process improvement tools
- Utilize APQP and Six Sigma methodologies to lead projects for Design & Development (D&D) process for New Product Development (NPD) and Product Modification (PM). This tools include but are not limited to Process Maps, FMEAs, Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), SPC, etc.
- Lead creation and preparation of engineering CAD drawings and or specifications for product, tooling, gauging, and equipment as necessary
- Recommend, develop and maintain various inspection methods including standard measurement equipment, custom gauges, and automated vision systems
- Convert bid package into released production packages. This may include the following:
- Review PO against quote for discrepancies with the quote
- Prepare Tool and Product drawings for purchasing and production
- Prepare Work Instructions for production
- Prepare Material BOM for purchasing
- Prepare process setup drawings for production
- Prepare customer approval drawings for purchasing
- Supervise initial production runs
- Perform other duties as assigned
- The Engineering Project Manager makes clear concise communications maintaining confidentiality as necessary when dealing with relevant parties including:
- Contacting raw material suppliers for quotes
- Outside subcontractors for value added services
- Customer visits and meetings
- Timely correspondence with internal team members, sales, manufacturing and customer service
- Lohmann MRP System activities
- Cost analysis as required for process auditing, optimization and waste tracking
- Creating Bill of Materials (BOMs) as needed for new products
- Creation of Routing of new BOMs dependent upon manufacturing processes
- Analysis of system reports such as waste tracking or yield analysis
- Assist in maintenance and Update DEQ reporting requirements as needed
- Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Annual and Biennial reporting requirements
- Assist in hazardous Waste Activities
- Notifying Operations Manager of any violations of Hazardous Waste
- Inspection of facility for proper management practices
- Inspection of production and storage area for material and waste
- Ensure Logistics obtains SDS for all material inbound into facility and transmit these to site Safety Manager for reasons of permitting and record keeping
- Assisting Environmental Supervisor as required
- Other Duties as deemed by the Company
Minimum Requirements:
· Ability to speak, read and write English. Spanish is helpful but not required.
· Excellent communication skills, verbal and written (at C-suite/exec level or plant worker level).
- Advanced computer Skills MS Office, Excel required. Proficiency with Computer Aided Design including both 2D, 3D, ability to code basic programs desired
- Understanding of GD&T practices and ability to draw, modify and interpret drawings and customer specifications
- Strong Problem Solving Skills utilizing Six Sigma and Lean methodologies
- Excellent Planning, Organizational, and Communication Skills

Required Education, Experience, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, etc.:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial) or similar required
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certificating required or ability to complete in first 12 months of employment
- 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience desired
Travel: Travel expectation is up to 20%
