Role Overview
The Staff Accountant will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial operations of a growing candy manufacturing company with $25 million in annual sales. This position requires expertise in Sage, other ERP systems, and strong Excel capabilities. Key responsibilities include managing general ledger activities, financial reporting, and providing cost accounting support within a manufacturing environment. This position reports directly to the Corporate Controller.
Key Responsibilities
- General Accounting :
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Record journal entries and assist with month-end and year-end closings.
- Support financial planning efforts.
- Financial Reporting :
- Prepare accurate financial statements balance sheets, income statements, cash flow reports).
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Conduct variance analysis and report findings to management.
- Cost Accounting :
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
- Provide insights into cost trends and profitability.
- Assist in preparing budgets related to production and operations.
- ERP & Technology Management :
- Use Sage for daily accounting tasks and reporting.
- Leverage other ERP systems to enhance process efficiencies and data management.
- Support system updates and training for accounting functions.
- Compliance and Audits :
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Assist in audit preparation by providing required documentation.
- Excel Reporting and Analysis :
- Develop advanced spreadsheets using Excel functions such as pivot tables and XLOOKUP.
- Automate reporting processes and create financial models.

Compensation
Lolli & Pops & Hammond’s Candies offers a hybrid work environment, and employees are asked to be in the office three days per week. The office is located on the north side of Denver, Colorado. We offer a competitive benefits package and flexible time off.
The expected starting pay range for this position is $70,000-90,000 annually based on experience. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses / incentives, and equity.
