What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager-Revenue Cycle position at Loma Linda University Health?
Job Summary : The Manager-Revenue Cycle assists in the absence of the Faculty Patient Business Operations (FPBO) absence. Responsible for the quality management of assigned FPBO units to maintain consistent staffing necessary to achieve maximum insurance and patient collections and other revenue cycle productivity. Motivates employees to promote creative thinking and problem solving. Communicates regularly with Directors regarding status of work in progress. Prioritizes projects and delegates to appropriate parties. Monitors all aspects of their departments to achieve unit and department goals, while maintaining a positive rapport with our Physician Groups. Apprises the Director of any negative deviations in their unit operations. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience : Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or Health Care required or an additional four years of experience required in lieu of degree. Minimum four years supervisory experience in patient billing required. Participants of the LLUH Management Residency or Administrative Fellowship program are eligible in lieu of work experience.
Knowledge and Skills : Knowledge of modern office practices and all insurance types and their guidelines including the ability to read and interpret EOB's. Working knowledge of current ICD and CPT coding systems required. Able to use computer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Access; operate / troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Epic experience preferred. Knowledge of on-line patient accounting systems (A / R systems, and PC's), computers, and calculators. Typing 30 wpm required. Possess a working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures, and business terminology. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively, think critically, work independently, perform basic math / statistical functions, manage multiple assignments, compose written material. Able to work well under pressure, problems solve, prioritize workload, and recall information with accuracy. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
Licensures and Certifications : Valid Driver's License required at time of hire.
