Salary Range: $18.33 - $22.34
Pay rates are determined based on experience and internal equity.
Position Summary:
- The Electrocardiology Technician coordinates and implements Electrocardiology testing on all units and ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the Department Standards of Care.
- Must have a strong knowledge of Treadmill's and Dobutamine Stress Echo's and insures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the Department Standards of Care.
- Must work well under stress or tight deadlines.
- Must work well with supervisors, co-workers, patients/residents, family members and visitors.

Position Duties/Responsibility:
- Knowledge of the principals of growth and development over the lifespan along with having the skills necessary to provide Electrocardiology, Echo's, Cardioversion and Dobutamine stress testing appropriate to the age of the patients served is also necessary.
- Obtains identifying information for EKG records.
- Operates EKG machine and records pulse from electrodes.

Position Qualifications:
- Education: Any combination of training, education and work experience which demonstrates an ability to satisfactorily perform the duties of the position. The typical qualifying background is possession of a high school diploma or equivalent experience, Cardiology exposure, clerical experience and education in Medical Terminology.
- Experience: Acute hospital experience and a background in cardiology function is preferred. A working understanding of Echo's and Dobutamine Stress Echo's is required.

- Skills/Ability: Exhibits the ability to organize work assignments and follow through with accuracy, exercises good judgment, demonstrates initiative and emotional stability during times of crises. Demonstrates tact and poise Knowledge of the Cardiac System and EKG, Echo, Cardioversion and Dobutamine Stress Echo application as it relates to patients of all ages. Working knowledge of psychosocial needs as well as Patient Rights. Demonstrates safe work practices to include proper body mechanics and use of Standard Precautions. Ability to maintain effective working relationship with staff, physicians, patients, and families. Ability to work independently and as department needs require, including overtime, varying shifts, weekends and holidays
