The Role:
You will be working on the Exam team, responsible for leading a team of Exam Fitters. You will ensure safe, compliant, completion of Level 1 – 4 examinations within set deadlines in accordance with ATC instructions and customer VMI’s.
What You’ll Do:
Implementation and maintenance of safety systems, production efficiency and quality output at the relevant ATC Depot site.
Operate (drive) rail vehicles as required, within depot operating limits, and in accordance with all relevant operating procedures
Ensuring the compliance of the teams working to VMI’s, VOI’s and ATC work instructions
Liaising with Customers to ensure efficient work programmes are implemented and the resolution of technical problems
Assisting the training department in the development of competence assessments for Team Members
Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all relevant personnel
Implementation of customer requirements
Mentoring and coaching of Team Members to ensure that they fulfil their job requirements and have the relevant training to do so
Ensuring work locations are fit for purpose and compliant with relevant standards
Ensuring the safe movement of vehicles whilst complying with the Safe Method Of Work procedure
Ensuring that team members are up to date with business communications

What You Bring:
Qualifications – minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Engineering
Experience – previous experience, involvement and understanding of rail vehicle maintenance activities. Management of rail vehicle depot operations and team leader experience
Knowledge – good understanding of depot operations with the ability to interpret engineering drawings. Strong knowledge of health and safety and environmental standards
Engineering – strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering, experience of Mark 3, Mark 4 Coaching stock and 15X DMU’s is desirable
