Cost Accounting Manager

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Cost Accounting Manager to oversee the cost accounting functions and provide financial insights that drive operational efficiency and profitability. Location: on-site in Cherry Hill, NJ

Salary: $125,000 - $150,000

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and lead the cost accounting function, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and cost variance analysis.
• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, processes, and controls to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Analyze production costs, overhead, labor, and material costs to identify variances and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost accounting reports and present findings to senior leadership.
• Monitor and update standard costs regularly, ensuring alignment with actual costs and business strategy.
• Conduct periodic inventory audits and support cycle counts.
• Provide financial analysis for new product pricing, margin analysis, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and external regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred).
• 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, GAAP, and inventory management.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead a team in a fast-paced setting.
