Safety Specialist

Lone Star Bakery, Inc. is a fast-growing, family-owned business looking for a Safety Specialist that will facilitate safety programs and training on-site ensuring compliance to requirements and regulations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Foster and promote a safety culture.
• Deliver training programs and identify training needs.
• Conduct company safety compliance audits.
• Assist the Safety Director in developing annual safety goals and objectives and action plans supporting the Company’s core value of uncompromised safety.
• Conduct accident investigations and near miss incidents.
• Conducts daily walk through Plants.
• Conduct safety training both monthly and new employee safety orientations.
• Keep current with ever changing Federal Regulations.
• Maintain and update documentation and reports that support the business while maintaining accurate records.

Job Requirements, Education, & Certifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred not required with experience.
• 5 -10 years safety experience without degree, 2-3 with degree.
• Presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate, update, persuade, and/or facilitate discussions with all level of management.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other business areas and government agencies as required.
• Demonstrated high level proficiency of oral and written communication skills.
• Planning and organizational skills necessary to coordinate workload around multiple assignments.
• Bi-lingual preferred.

• Working extended hours as required
• Working in indoor and outdoor environments in conditions of extreme heat and cold
• Work in and near industrial hazards
