Summary of Responsibility:
As a Community Engagement Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to build and maintain relationships with community members, stakeholders, and organizations. This role will work in partnership with Programs and Development to bring awareness to CASA and our mission. This will be done through outreach events and initiatives focused on relationship building, volunteer recruitment and strengthening the organization’s community partnerships. This role interfaces directly with the community at-large to build a pipeline of constituents for the organization. This is a relationship-focused position, requiring the individual to have strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities
- Increase public awareness by building relationships that foster strong partnerships with community organizations.
- Maintain positive working relationships with volunteers, community partners, and stakeholders.
- Identify agencies and groups in the community who could benefit from understanding the work of Lone Star CASA and provide in-person and/or online presentations in partnership with the Executive Director and Development Director.
- Collaborate with partners on programs and initiatives that could benefit the child welfare community.
- Lead efforts to recruit and maintain relationships with event, recruitment, and episodic volunteers.
- Seek and secure community outreach events. Maintain a calendar of events.
- Represent Lone Star CASA at community events, resource fairs, chamber events, etc.
- Assist with planning and coordinating volunteer retention events, Child Abuse Prevention Month, legislative advocacy, and the Volunteer Appreciation Banquet.
- Create and execute recruitment strategies and a volunteer recruitment plan.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that initiatives are properly represented and communicated across all channels.
- Monitor progress of initiatives and report findings to management.
- Schedule meetings and perform other tasks for senior managers as requested.
- Other responsibilities to be assigned as needed.
Conditions of Employment
· Schedule includes regular office hours and evening and weekend work, requires flexibility and availability.
· Must have daily transportation.
· Must pass all background checks.
· Ability to sit and type at computer for at least 7 hours per workday.
· Ability to lift 15-25 pounds for recruitment events.
· Occasionally carry out or assist with other duties not listed on this job description.
