Certified Biller/Coder

Job Responsibilities:

1. Coding and Documentation:

· Review and analyzes medical records to assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10 and CPT codebooks with 95% accuracy of all accounts coded and billed out.

· All accounts will be reviewed and accurately billed out within 3 days of the chart being completed.

· Ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations.

2. Claims Processing:

• Create and submit insurance claims to various payers, including government programs (Medicare and Medicaid) and private insurance companies.
• Works biller specific denials and rejections that are assigned by the A/R Follow-up Specialist and resubmits corrected claims when necessary.

3. Compliance and Documentation:

• Stay updated with changes in healthcare regulations and coding guidelines.
• Maintains proper records of all billing and coding activities, ensuring compliance with record-keeping requirements.

6. Communication:

• Collaborates with healthcare providers, physicians, and office staff to clarify and improve documentation and coding details for improvement initiatives monthly.
• Maintain open and effective communication with insurance companies and patients.
• Communicates directly with providers on unsigned charts weekly.

7. Reporting:

• Runs LCD and medical necessity checks and submits necessary documentation queries back to the provider.
• Runs hospital reports to ensure all hospital charges are captured and billed out timely.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
