What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Nursing /Facility Administrator position at Lone Star Home Dialysis?
Responsibilities:
The Director of Nursing (DON) Dialysis services will meet organizational goals and objectives and will meet standards set by regulatory and accrediting agencies to provide the highest level of safe and outstanding quality care to our patients and their families. The DON will be responsible for:
- Overseeing and managing the dialysis operations, including staffing, scheduling, and performance management of nursing and support staff.
- Maintaining staff productivity levels and staff development.
- Providing Effective Customer Service/ Patient Experience program
- Developing and implementing strategies to optimize dialysis services, improving patient care, and meeting organizational goals.
- Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, standards of care, and best practices in dialysis treatment.
- Managing resources, and equipment to ensure efficient and effective delivery of dialysis services.
- Work closely with physicians, administrators, and other healthcare team members to facilitate patient care, treatment plans, and overall organizational objectives.
- Fostering a supportive and educational environment for staff. Providing ongoing training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to ensure a skilled and motivated team.
- Advocate for patient needs, ensuring their rights are respected, and they receive high-quality, patient-centered care.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required. MSN or Master’s Degree in Healthcare or related field preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- RN licensed in Texas or in accordance with the Texas Board of Nursing rules, 22 TAC Chapter 220 for NLC, and: (i) have at least three years of current experience in hemodialysis; or (ii) have at least two years of experience as an RN and hold a current certification from a nationally recognized board in nephrology nursing or hemodialysis;
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance
- Strong communication skills, oral and written,
- Customer focused, with strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain partnerships
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Dialysis regulations and requirements
- Extensive experience as a nurse, preferably in a nursing home or long-term care setting
- In-depth understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and disease processes
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively supervise a team of nurses
- Proficient in shift management, including scheduling and staffing
- Thorough understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of patient privacy and confidentiality
- Strong attention to detail and ability to review documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, staff, and other healthcare professionals
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $117,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
