What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Sorter position at Lone Star Overnight?
LSO is now hiring a part-time Lead Sorter!
LSO is a $100M parcel network delivery company experiencing significant growth with both e-commerce and B2B customers. We are seeking customer service-oriented candidates who work well under pressure and can complete tasks in a safe and orderly fashion. The Lead Sorter will perform duties related to receipt, shipment, storage, and distribution of products, parts, and materials, which includes loading, unloading, moving and storing items according to delivery or routing documents or supervisor instructions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Receive shipments and correctly store products and items that will be kept in the warehouse or prepare and separate products and items for pick-up that will be sent back out.
- Assist Sort Management in planning and organizing each day’s assignments for sort personnel.
- Assures that sorter personnel have adequate and appropriate training, equipment and supplies to successfully perform their sort tasks.
- Accurately and timely produce trailer/paperwork.
- Physically load, unload and/or sort both packages as well as palatalized bundles of varying sizes and weights by hand.
- Lift, push, pull, carry, scan, and place packages in a safe and efficient manner.
- Load and unload vehicles as required using appropriate equipment.
- Responsible for accurate scanning of packages.
- Maintain warehouse as a safe and clean facility.
- Process miscellaneous projects and tasks as prescribed by the Service Center Manager and/or Sort Supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 6 months of lead experience in a logistics/warehouse setting.
- Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse facility executing all duties.
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull packages weighting up to 75lbs.
- Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, and bend 80% of the time.
- Shifts may vary depending on warehouse package volume and business needs.
- Noise level generated from other distribution activity can be somewhat loud at times, but no damaging levels or protective equipment required.
- Position requires flexibility regarding hours necessary to successfully meet expectations (i.e., weekly hours of 40 and/or weekend hours).
Sunday-Friday 2pm-7pm
