Job Description
Safety Coordinator implements, manages and monitors safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet DOT, OSHA and other applicable requirements. Evaluates the organization's procedures, facilities and equipment by conducting inspections to identify unsafe conditions and to implement safeguards and solutions. Being a Safety Coordinator ensures the organization complies with all current safety regulations and that all employees are aware of safety requirements and are prepared to follow safety procedures. Collects data and reports on all safety and accident events. Additionally, Safety Coordinator may have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, resource conservation, or other safety related activities depending on the industry and location.
Qualifications
· Minimum 23 years of age
· Class A CDL license w/ minimum 3 years verifiable experience
· Clear MVR
· Current medical card
· Solid computer skills and experience
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in DOT safety experience (see job description)
· OSHA safety experience is a plus but not required. Training can be provided.
Job Duties
· Oversees company safety program compliance under DOT and OSHA regulations.
· Provides various safety reports and analyzes safety trends.
· Conducts DOT and OSHA safety meetings.
· Provides driver and employee safety training and retraining.
· Conducts accident investigation and determines fault and preventability.
· Interfaces with insurance companies.
· Prepares and tracks vehicle work orders.
· Conducts driver evaluations.
· Oversees federal drug / alcohol program.
· Conducts vehicle, mechanic’s shop, and work area inspections.
· Maintains SDS files.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
