ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
LoneStar Fasteners is looking for the right, qualified individual to join our team! The Document Control Specialist I is responsible for maintaining the document control systems, including forms, worksheets, reports, and other controlled documents. This position also helps establish and maintain the system managing all documents generated within the quality systems, laboratory testing, including quality certifications, MTR, and test reports.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety and Quality Assurance policies.
- Report injuries, accidents, near misses or unsafe conditions to a Supervisor or Manager immediately.
- Generate Pack List
- Provides document packages for customers
- Enter MTR into IQS
- Prepare documentation and enter heat codes into IQS, handles cert revisions and requests
- Retrieves historical information, as needed. Review documentation others enter into IQS
- Prepare documentation and enter MTRS into IQS, handles cert revisions and requests
- Final Reviews / Review the work of others
- Manages and maintains the QC data records, hard copies and electronic files in QA document storage
- Back-up – emails from pack slipper: investigate issue, enter heat codes into IQS
- Other duties may be assigned.
EXPERIENCE
- 1-2 years of quality experience in a regulated industry, preferably with direct document control experience
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); preferred
- Experience with document control activities is required. Requires strong written, oral, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Effective knowledge of maintaining a document and data control system.
- Effective organization and planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.
- Must be able to follow established policies and procedures, and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to perform detail oriented work with a high degree of accuracy and completeness.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbally and written materials.
- Ability to recognize problems, recommend and implement solutions.
- A logical and organized thought pattern is required.
- Must be proficient in using Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Frequently communicates within team and across departments who have inquiries, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Employee is occasionally required to lift up to twenty pounds.
- Must be able to detect product issues visually.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE
- Manufacturing and warehouse environment with multi step process production runs on different machines. High value highly customized components, long and large parts, and high precision manufacturing for critical service applications
- Setting: Primarily office-based within a production and manufacturing environment.
- Noise Level: Ranges from moderately quiet in office areas to high in production areas.
- Physical Requirements: May involve occasional movement between office and production areas, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
