Experienced Solar Panel Installer
Role:

The Solar Installation technician will be a part of Lonestar Solar Services LLC, Operations team. As an integral member of the team, the ideal candidate will work cooperatively with other team members to successfully complete the installation and maintenance of energy products safely and on time.

Employee Job Description:

  • A solar installer will be able to configure, install, inspect, and maintain solar PV systems for customers.
  • Installers, on a day-to-day basis, will assess the environment and detect and mitigate any hazards associated with installation. Installers will also map out panel placement on rooftops, carports, ground mounts, etc. and then be able to place components according to those diagrams.
  • Installers must be able to follow city and safety codes and regulations per city and company requirements.
  • Installers will label, install, terminate and run electrical wiring for solar panels during installation.
  • Installers will also test the system and measure grounding systems and make any adjustments to the controls as needed.
  • Travel is mandatory and will vary depending on business needs. Employees must be able to travel for up to 2 weeks at a time, several times a year, to various locations within the

US. Trucks, fuel and nightly hotel stays are taken care of by the company.

  • Installer must provide troubleshooting skills for solar systems, to include diagnosing and identifying remedies requiring maintenance, service or updates.
  • Installers must analyze production information to confirm system performance is as expected.
  • Installers will be required to work on top of residential and commercial buildings at heights exceeding 30ft, in which case installer will be tied off per company requirements.
  • Installer is required to maintain a positive attitude and be able to keep up with a fast- paced working environment. Installers must work as a team player to accomplish an accurate and proficient installation.

Employee Job Requirements:

  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible work shifts, with weekend availability.
  • Ability to safely handle power tools, hand tools as well as materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds frequently.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in roof work, general construction, or carpentry preferred.
  • Excellent attendance is essential for the team to achieve success.
  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must be able to work at great heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders, and stairs.
  • Must be able to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces, attic etc.)
  • Prolonged periods of repetitious duties including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
  • Must be able to meet OSHA equipment standards for fall protection (harness, anchor, ropes, etc.) with a maximum capacity of 310lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
