Summer Camp Teacher - Day Camp - 9am to noon / Prime time
Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Day Camp Teachers to join our team for an exciting summer camp experience. As a Camp Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children. You will be responsible for leading activities, providing support, and ensuring the well-being of campers throughout their time at camp. Ideal candidates will have a passion for working with children and a background in childhood development, or arts, or sciences K-12. This position requires availablity to teach all nine weeks of Camp - from June 23 to August 22, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Report to the Camp Director, and support a strong team of staff members.
- Supervise and engage with campers during various activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment.
- Plan and lead recreational activities such as arts and crafts, nature studies, marine bio, sciences, ceramics, and other educational programs.
- Foster positive relationships with campers while promoting teamwork, respect, and an inclusive environment.
- Implement behavior management strategies to maintain a positive camp atmosphere.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding camper progress and any concerns.
- Assist with daily camp operations including setup, cleanup, and organization of materials.
- Provide support to campers with special needs or those requiring additional assistance.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience working with children in various capacities such as:
- arts instruction
- science instruction
- educational support roles
- sports and games or leading other physical activities
Preferred qualifications include teaching experience K-12, knowledge of childhood development principles and special education practices. A background in behavior management techniques will also be beneficial in this role.
