Pay Range: $30-$35 per hr. plus potential profit share

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Assist in the accurate processing of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for multiple employee groups, ensuring proper calculation of wages, taxes, and deductions.
- Crosstrain in all payroll cycles (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly) to provide support and backup coverage as needed.
- Support the Payroll Supervisor in the research and resolution of payroll discrepancies and tax-related issues, while staying current with changes in payroll laws and regulations.
- Prepare and submit Certified Payroll reports in accordance with prevailing wage laws and union agreements.
- Oversee the complete Certified Payroll process—from wage determination to final reporting. Understand and assist with union reporting and related account reconciliations.
- Perform Month-End Close processes and reconcile various balance sheet accounts.
- Act as a payroll liaison within the Accounting Department, providing accounting insight and support.
- Gain hands-on experience across multiple functions within the Accounting Department.
- Learn and support system setup, configuration, and troubleshooting in UKG, Finance & Operations (F&O), and Advanced Labor systems.
- Help develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures and checklists for payroll and accounting functions to promote consistency and accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and internal reports by analyzing trends in payroll and benefit expenses.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 3 years of experience in payroll processing and general accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, accounting principles (GAAP), and tax compliance.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of projects while supporting the team’s objectives.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently and focus on finding solutions.
- Highly detail-oriented, able to spot discrepancies, identify errors, and correct mistakes using various tools and strategies.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Enjoy working on a variety of tasks and challenges.
- 5 years of combined experience in payroll and accounting.
- Experience with UKG (UltiPro) or other payroll platforms.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or other ERP/accounting software.
