Associate Director of Alumni and Employer Engagement
Principal Responsibilities:
- Oversee planning and implementation of alumni programing including Homecoming, reunions, networking events, regional receptions, and affinity group gatherings.
- Work on the development & implementation of the Regional Alumni Club program.
- Develop and implement strategies for marketing and promoting alumni activities, programs, and services to encourage broader alumni involvement and participation.
- Establish and maintain relationships with department leaders within the institution to facilitate internship and career placement preparation and access for students.
- Develop and cultivate strong personal relationships with employer partners to create a robust array of internships and career opportunities for current students & alumni.
- Participate in several traveling engagement and fundraising events and trips during the year: i.e.: significant football & Ice Hockey games, Research symposium events.
- Assist with large-scale events: Post & Brooklyn Commencement, the Gala, and the Polk Awards
- Assist in the re-launch and continuation of LIU phone-a-thon with our Athletes & Coaches.
- Work with Athletics on generating team-specific fund-raising programs and alumni events.
- Work within the University on the Annual Fund. Generate new momentum with recent graduates to increase awareness and loyalty to LIU.
- Provide reports for the management team, tracking progress and performance of alumni participation at events/fundraising and progress of our students with employment success to optimize future results for LIU.
- Create and implement new technology initiatives to support and expand recruitment efforts of both alumni and employer prospects. Increase LIUs exposure on various social media platforms, develop and maintain an active Alumni website. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Training, Skills, Knowledge, Experience:
- Minimum 1-3 years of progressive engagement and or/event experience or related work.
- Experience working with key stakeholders including alumni, students, donors, vendors,
- Employers and volunteers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft O=ice applications: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point. It is important to have a positive attitude, exemplary professionalism, the ability to problem solve, the ability to work independently and the ability to collaborate with others.
Working Conditions:
• Office is located on the LIU Post campus. Some nights/weekend and travel may be required.
