What are the responsibilities and job description for the Independent Study (Personalized Learning) Teacher for 2025-2026 Portola position at Long Valley-Thompson Peak Charter Schools?
The Long Valley Personalized Learning (Independent Study) Teacher engages and motivates students toward success; utilizes knowledge and experience with curriculum and teaching strategies; possess the ability to facilitate learning and develop personalized education plans as well as small group class plans based on state standards; and the ability to thrive in the complex operation of a blended learning center.

- Administer individual assessments in accordance with school's assessment guidelines
- Determine appropriate learning objectives for the student after assessing student's needs with a focus on proficient and advanced levels of mastery
- Provide individual instruction and classroom-based instruction as determined by program guidelines and supervisor.
- Monitor student progress and evaluate student achievement in relation to the learning objectives and California Standards/Core Curriculum State Standards; documentation of efforts must be written.
- Instruct students in citizenship, communication skills and development of effective work habits.
- Provide feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectation and goals
- Read and respond to employee_name@longvalleycs.org email on all school days
- Make regular entries into contact manager to record results of student meetings
- Perform clerical functions including managing and meeting the required deadlines for master agreements, monthly reports, attendance and other mandated documentation
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional learning communities (PLCs), in-service trainings, and other programs related to school duties that may be held outside of regular school hours.
Salary : $57,765 - $73,603
