What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teller I- Part-Time position at Longview Bank?
Tellers are often the first point of interaction for customers. They enjoy people, are naturally friendly, have a positive attitude, and are able to handle detailed work. These attributes help build a relationship with our customers. As a member of the front-line customer service team, Tellers must be able to listen to customers needs and satisfy those needs with appropriate bank products or personnel.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Handle incoming mail transactions, stamping mail daily and taking to post office.
- Answer incoming telephone calls and transfer to the appropriate person if needed.
- Answer basic customer inquiries regarding interest rates, service charges, account histories and refers customers to proper department for issues that cannot be resolved at the teller line.
- Process basic teller transactions.
- Assist customers with routine transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and transfers
- Accept loan payments and advances, verify amount and account to apply to, issue receipts as needed
- Completes wire forms and moves the transaction to the next step in the process
- Complete and log night deposits
- Identify counterfeit currency
- Process customer orders for cashiers checks and personal/business account checks
- Maintain appropriate logs: cashiers checks, cash, money orders, CTRs and etc.
- Ensure teller station is properly supplied
- Count and roll change
- Buy and sell currency to and from the vault as necessary, while ensuring that teller drawer cash limits arent exceeded. Balance teller drawer daily
- Balance the vault
- Open/Close deposit accounts, completing the appropriate paperwork and disclosures.
- Understand bank products and services and cross sell them to bank customers
- Complete training required by management
- Complies with BSA/AML training and reports any suspicious activity to BSA officer
- Complies with all bank policies and regulations
- Any and all other duties as might be assigned to you
- High school diploma or equivalent required unless enrolled in high school.
- Previous cash handling experience preferred, but is not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with banking software.
- High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

SCHEDULE: 10-20 hours per week, variable 1 four hour shift per week plus 3 Saturdays per month 8a-12p in Tuscola. Candidate needs to have availability to work at our Villa Grove Branch as needed.
