Job Summary : With oversight by the Chief Executive Officer, the Facilities Director leads the facilities / grounds and housekeeping teams and is responsible for all aspects of their operations which serve up to 210 residents of our independent, assisted, and enhanced assisted living community. In this role, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our reputation for excellent care and satisfaction by creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment tailored to the needs of our community.
Successful candidates will be skilled in the care / use of tools / equipment and possess considerable knowledge of materials, equipment, and methods used in a variety of skilled trades, repair tasks, and maintenance. They will deliver excellent customer service and be focused on a pleasant, high-quality living experience for all residents. They will be result-driven and assume ownership of their work with a strong sense of timeliness, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow through and execute projects / tasks quickly and efficiently. Ability to follow oral / written instructions and interpret / work from sketches / diagrams is essential.
Schedule : Monday-Friday 8 : 00a-5 : 00p with potential for flexibility. This position is on-call 24 / 7 / 365. Occasional evenings and weekends, as needed.

Requirements
Typical job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :
- Oversee the daily operation of facilities, grounds, and housekeeping;
- Effectively lead and manage a team of individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences (ie hiring, scheduling, evaluations, department disciplinary actions, and facilitation of training program and competencies for all department staff);
- Create and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations;
- Ensure timely responses and completion of work requisitions / orders;
- Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program;
- Assure the attractive appearance of all buildings (interior / exterior) and grounds;
- Perform routine and skilled maintenance repairs;
- Purchase supplies and equipment;
- Receive bids / quotes on equipment and projects;
- Plan, coordinate and implement security and fire safety programs;
- Plan and conduct all staff in-service training related to security and fire safety matters, including OSHA / RTK and Lock-Out / Tag-Out;
- Maintain all records for compliance with federal, state and local regulations related to maintenance, housekeeping, and security functions;
- Ensure that all building services and housekeeping employees receive appropriate risk management training pertinent to job duty hazards (e.g. lifting and transfer, electrical safety, safe use of tools, etc.);
- Implement a 24 / 7 / 365 emergency on-call calendar;
- Serve as safety officer and liaison for all OSHA regulation and compliance issues;
- Implement practices to minimize risk of personal injury, loss of life and damage to buildings / furnishings / equipment;
- Attend board of director and committee meetings at the direction of the Chief Executive Officer;
- Work with the Department of Health, local fire department, and other collaborative agencies;
- Prepare departmental budget, providing guidance and ensuring adherence on an annual basis;
- Encourage and participate in collaboration across departments;
- Other duties as assigned.
