What are the responsibilities and job description for the SEASONAL TURFGRASS TECHNICIAN position at Longwood Gardens?

Longwood Gardens is seeking a seasonal Turfgrass Technician to support our Grounds team from approximately May through October. Responsibilities include:
- Maintaining all turfgrass areas in the gardens
- Mowing, string trimming, edging, sodding, seeding, aeration, and leaf removal
- Performing a full range of groundskeeping and horticultural duties, including mulching, planting, and watering as needed
The schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30PM.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Prior groundskeeping and horticulture experience preferred, but not required
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- The ability to work in varying weather conditions, such as sun, rain, wind, cold, and heat
- The ability to lift 50 pounds
- The ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, bend, and stoop for long periods of time
- A valid driver’s license is required for this role
