Job Description:
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science in the Cook-Cole College of Arts and Sciences is seeking a full-time, non-tenure-track position in Mathematics (F0117) at the rank of Lecturer beginning in August 2025.
Professional responsibilities include teaching 15 credit hours per semester of undergraduate mathematics courses, including quantitative reasoning courses and courses for mathematics majors. Additional teaching opportunities may include special topics courses in the faculty member's area of expertise, and courses in Longwood's Civitae Core Curriculum.
Requirements:
- The preferred candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Mathematics, ABD, or Master's in Mathematics. ABD candidates must have an expected completion date of August 2025 for preferred consideration. A Ph.D. or Master's in a related field may be considered if the candidate has at least 18 graduate hours in Mathematics.
- Candidates with demonstrated college teaching ability and commitment to working with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and constituents in support of the university mission are preferred.
Additional Information:
This position is a full-time, non-tenure-track, instructional faculty position with a one-year appointment at a salary of $50,500. A successful criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
